A supplier's file in your store
In this video, a supplier's spreadsheet becomes four Shopify products, with sizes, photos and stock. They're saved as drafts. Later, we'll update their prices and stock from the supplier's next file.
Upload your supplier's file
Drop in the supplier's file, just as it is. CSV, Excel, even PDF. Csvio reads every row.
Choose what the import does
Create adds new products. Bulk edit updates the ones you have. This is a new range, so it's Create. Then the AI matches the columns.
Check the AI mapping
Here's what the AI matched. Item description: the product title. RRP: the price. Trade: your cost per item. SOH: the stock. EAN, the barcode, and Image, the photo. Colour and size become options: one tee, six variants. It also picks a Shopify category. The socks are only a best guess, so check it, and choose Keep. The other three matched Shopify's own wording. Fabric has no Shopify field, so it goes to a metafield.
Defaults and preview
New products arrive as drafts, hidden from customers until you publish. The preview shows each product exactly as Shopify will get it. Or download it as a spreadsheet.
Import and read the report
Nothing is sent until you confirm. Then the products are created in your store. Big files run in the background, so you can close the tab. And that's it: four products, saved as drafts. Here they are in Shopify. The tee has its photos. And all six variants are there, by colour and size, each with its own price and stock.
Update prices and stock from a new file
A month later, the supplier sends new prices. Upload that file the same way, and this time, choose Bulk edit. Each product is found by its SKU, from the supplier's Item Code column. Only price and stock are mapped, so titles, photos and descriptions stay as they are. Apply the update, and it runs. Nine updated. One skipped: that SKU isn't in the store. The new stock is already in Shopify.
Find every import later
Every import is kept in History, with exactly what it changed. Try Csvio free, on your own supplier's file. The link's in the description.
